BLENDED REMAP
Our most popular choice for turbo diesel tuning, this offers a great balance of both improved performance/BHP and fuel economy/MPG benefits. Power lower in the rev range improves throttle response and often helps to reduce hesitancy / "Turbo lag", as well as increasing MPG by up to 15%.

FUNCTION DELETE AND FAULT CODE REMOVAL
Removing functions from an engine
Some owners may want to remove certain functions from the engine and engine management system. For example, this can include functions and components such as swirl flaps delete, EGR delete, start stop, etc. When this is done, the engine management system will normally raise a Fault Code or P Code, leading to the “check engine light” being illuminated. Custom Motor Tune can disable this function and engine fault code, and hence prevent the engine dropping into “limp home” mode.

DPF
To complement our extensive performance, economy and C02 reduction tuning, we also offer a range of Diesel Particulate Filter Removal, DPF delete software and DPF removal tuning services. In its standard form a vehicles Diesel Particulate Filter, or tdi dpf cycle can be troublesome for a range of reasons,to reduce driver inconvenience and costly repairs we can tune, remove DPF or delete DPF function allowing for improved reliability, servicing and performance. In the UK this is only offered for off-road and motorsport use.

DIAGNOSTICS
Firstly before beginning the remapping process we will scan your vehicle with the diagnostic tool to see if there are any fault codes, as well as giving it a visual inspection and check for any obvious signs of a problem.

Depending on the vehicle we may also do some logging of engine power metrics in stock form to confirm whether it's working as it should be. Once it has been determined the vehicle is fit to be remapped, the standard software is read from the vehicle using a highly specialised tool. For most vehicles, this is performed by plugging in the OBD (on-board diagnostics) port.

The map contained within the software is then expertly calibrated to your specification (tuned for performance or economy) before being written back to your ECU. Further diagnostic testing and login will be performed after the process, as well as a test drive with you at the wheel to make sure you are happy with the results.

ADBLUE SOLUTIONS
Adblue Removal, Adblue reduction and Adblue Deactivation.
How the Adblue and SCR System Works
Adblue is the registered trademark for AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%) it is a chemical solution used in a process called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) this helps to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel vehicles.

Adblue is used by an advanced pollution control technology installed in the exhaust system called Selective Catalytic Reduction or SCR. SCR systems work by reacting AdBlue with the harmful NOX (nitrogen oxide) gases in the exhaust to form harmless water and nitrogen. Adblue is expensive – so is Adblue removal an option?

Let’s be very clear, Adblue is a legal requirement inside the EU. European vehicles from cars to trucks, offer SCR equipped models, but where you are using a vehicle where Adblue is either not required or Adblue is not available, we can help.

If you need to switch off the Adblue system on your vehicle, we offer a mobile Adblue removal and Adblue deactivation service. After Adblue removal the vehicle will no longer consume Adblue and the good news is, the process of Adblue ECU remapping is carried out just once, no Adblue service or repeat of the Adblue removal process is required.

SPEED LIMITERS
Speed limiter function can be delivered in a couple of different ways, removal or enforcement.

Speed Limit Removal
Some manufacturers add a maximum speed limit, but this can be removed, so your vehicle can achieve is maximum speed on a track or on roads with no speed limits such as the Autobahn in Germany.

Speed Limit Enforcement
The main reason why you may wish to add a speed restriction to a vehicle, is if you have the intention of achieving better fuel economy. If you are looking for better fuel economy, this function is the perfect solution for businesses with fleet vehicles as it can not only save on fuel costs, but also help reduce emissions, particularly in combination with our economy remap. The additional benefit is it can help prevent speeding on motorways and dual carriageways operating at the national speed limit, meaning fewer speeding tickets and less admin associated.

Frequently Asked questions

WHY DON'T VEHICLE MANUFACTURES TUNE THEIR VEHICLES?

Vehicle manufactures are in a tough position here, they have to build one vehicle for all drivers - it's a bit like a nice suit off the shelf; it fits well, it looks smart, but it's not custom tailored for the end customer. Tuning is just the same - if you own a fleet of vans you may want a speed limiter or rev limiter added to help save your fuel, yet another customer may want a little more power to help with towing or heavy payloads. These sorts of changes can only be made once the vehicle is built and the customer needs something other than 'off the shelf.'

WILL MY FUEL CONSUMPTION GO UP AFTER AN UPGRADE?

Not necessarily, in fact in many cases quite the opposite. Even on a performance tune, if you continue to drive the car in the same way as you did before the upgrade, your fuel consumption will probably improve. Of course if you have a track day motorsport tuning map installed on the car, and you are driving the car under the conditions in which full on motorsport tuning is intended, you're likely to find a slightly reduced MPG figure. In just about all other cases though our tuning will improve your vehicle's fuel economy.

SHOULD I TELL MY INSURANCE COMPANY?

Whilst the upgrade in many cases is undetectable, the responsible and correct answer to this question has to be "yes", your insurance company should be notified of any modifications including tuning. However, the good news is many insurance companies do not penalise you for upgrades of this nature, particularly if you're tuning for increased fuel economy.

WILL THE LIFE SPAN OF MY ENGINE BE REDUCED?

We take great care to ensure that all of our modifications have no detrimental effect on your car. In a lot of cases the economy tune actually helps to extend the life of components, such as the clutch and gearbox, by making the delivery of the power far less aggressive and smoothing the overall drive of the vehicle.
